Safe, efficient and waste-reducing

It is vitally important to ensure that an innovative research installation can be operated safely. MYRRHA's Accelerator Driven System has two major advantages:

Flemish Ministers Jan Jambon and Hilde Crevits praise research into nuclear medicine


On Monday 2 December, Jan Jambon, Minister-President of the Flemish government, and Hilde Crevits, Vice Minister-President, visited MYRRHA and the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (SCK•CEN) in Mol. They were briefed inter alia on the contribution by MYRRHA to the fight against cancer and towards a solution for nuclear waste. “These efforts can make a difference”, states Jan Jambon, Flemish Minister-President, after the visit.

MYRRHA ISOL system development reaches its first milestone


The development of MYRRHA’s ISOL (Isotope Separation OnLine) target facility reached its first milestone with a successful integrity test of its target container. Together with steady progress in other Phase 1 sub projects, the milestone confirms that the MYRRHA project is firmly on track.

The very best in the world gather for the MYRRHA World Days


The Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (SCK•CEN) organises the MYRRHA World Days this week. 220 policy makers, scientists and investors from 23 countries will participate in the event, among whom Carlo Rubbia, Nobel Prize winner in Physics and father of the technology on which the MYRRHA project is based.
